Irasshaimase!

ATTENTION! This blog is not a 101 on everything Japanese…

First, and big and warm welcome and a thank you for taking your interest as far as to actually read the “about”-page! I hope you will find the renewed and restructed “In MY Japan” WordPress blog to your likings!

When I say renewed, it is because this page originally launched in 2013 shortly before I ventured to Japan to live for the second time in my life. Back then, I was keen and enthusiastic about telling everyone about my experiences on a one-year Working Holiday Visa, and blue-eyed as I was I was sure I would be able to post an entrance eacj and every single day!

However, I quickly learned that work, social life, and general laziness leaves little to no space in my mind for upholding an active social media existence. And so, as the years passed on, the page remained virtually inactive. I realised recently that this was due, not to lack of topics to talk about, but lack of structure. So, after rethinking my Japan blog site’s business model, this is what I’ve come up with!

Although I no longer recide in Japan, the country and its culture remain one of my biggest interests in everyday life. This blog will therefore seek to present every aspect of Japan that I can present to you, based on my own personal knowledge and experience. And as I am currently residing in London, “In My Japan” will seek to present kindred spirits with all the best of Japan related sites hidden within one of the great European capitals.

This blog will not be an encyclopediatric guide for Japan first-timers. There will be no how to eat sushi-guides, no introduction to bowing correctly, and no behind the hidden scenes of geisha life. This blog will go deeper, explore further and hopefully show you exactly what it is about Japan that I love.
